Nikon will be initiating a free download of its new image browsing software, readily compatible with other Nikon software applications, on March 17, 2015
The ViewNX-i, a new image-browsing software designed to enable easy management of still images and movies recorded with a Nikon digital camera, has been announced by Nikon Singapore Pte Ltd for a free download beginning March 17.
ViewNX-i is the successor application to the ViewNX 2 image-browsing and editing software Nikon has offered to date. Inheriting the user-friendly interface of ViewNX 2, the new software offers simpler operation as an application specialized for image browsing, with features such as tabs that make it easy to switch between workspaces, and the addition of an Output Toolbar that intuitively displays convenient functions.
The ViewNX-i is also fully compatible with other Nikon software applications, in which the ViewNX-i serves as the launch pad for RAW development and still-image adjustment using Capture NX-D, and movie editing using ViewNX-Movie Editor. With Capture NX-D, Nikon's photofinishing software, all advanced adjustment functions available with the application can be used to develop RAW images and edit still images via ViewNX-i. Further complementing the ViewNX-i functionality is the ViewNX-Movie Editor, a bundled movie-editing software that provides users of all proficiency levels in movie-editing with the ability to easily convert, create and edit movies.
The enhanced mutual collaboration between these applications greatly expands the ways in which users can now enjoy their photos and movies after they are recorded.
Others: An Internet connection is required to use all functions (Online help, the map function, Web services, and functions, including those built into ViewNX-Movie Editor, related to movies, as well as to acquire update information). A 3 GHz Pentium D or better, or Intel Core i5 or better CPU is recommended to play back or edit HD and Full HD movies.
