Ready for anything.
Less to carry.
More to see.
The world’s a big place - far too big to be left to imagination. The NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is a lens that can explore it all with you. Go from detailed wide angle landscapes to lovely street scenes to telephoto close-ups with beautifully blurred backgrounds, even macro-style shots, all with a single lightweight DX-format lens that delivers outstanding image quality shot after shot.
The NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR can cover just about any shot. It smoothly zooms from a wide angle 18mm (27mm equivalent when used with APS-C size/DX-format cameras), through the sweet spots of the focal length range - 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 105mm - all the way up to the 140mm of telephoto power (210mm equivalent when used with APS-C size/DX-format cameras).
Every angle is its best angle.
Outstanding NIKKOR Z optics deliver beautiful high-resolution, high contrast images and videos across the entire zoom range. ED glass significantly reduces axial chromatic aberration and minimises colour bleeding across the entire frame.
Take it everywhere.
Despite its big zoom range, the NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is a lightweight, compact do-it-all lens that’s great for travel, events or just shooting on the go. It’s an ideal companion for DX-format Z cameras like Z 50 and Z fc.
VR keeps it steady.
Built-in VR image stabilisation counteracts hand-held camera shake for steadier videos and sharper photos. It also lets you shoot stills at slower shutter speeds without causing motion blur.
Outstanding for video.
Make smooth iris transitions and exposure adjustments thanks to an electromagnetic diaphragm. The ultra-quiet stepping motor prevents focus drive sounds from being captured on film, and focus breathing is greatly suppressed.
Close focusing for macro shots.
Get as close as 20 centimetres* from your subject and fill the frame with macro-style details at a large 0.33x reproduction ratio. This is great for tabletop shots and food photography, where you can’t exactly back up.
*Distance from the front surface of the lens to the focus position. At wide-angle position.
Dust and drip
The lens barrel and all moving parts are designed carefully considering dust- and drip-resistant performance with sealing that prevents dust and water droplets from entering the lens.*
*The lens is not guaranteed to be dust- and drip-resistant in all situations and under all conditions.
At just 315 grams and 90mm collapsed, the NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is ideal for travel or just an everyday, do-it-all walkaround lens.
The smooth click-less control ring can be customised for the way you shoot. Use it for precise manual focusing or to adjust aperture, ISO or exposure compensation.
Brilliant. By design.
Large textured pattern with smooth, fast zooming action.
Sharp. Satin finish.
High-quality satin-like black finish is a stunning complement to any Z series camera.
Precision feel. Classic knurling.
Cross-pattern texture clearly distinguishes the control ring from the zoom ring while maintaining a precision look and feel.
Legacy. NIKKOR badge.
Carefully positioned on the top of the lens to emphasise the legendary brand and quality.
NIKKOR Z lenses use a stepping motor for fast, accurate, smooth, quiet autofocus with reduced wobbling. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video.
Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting.
ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass
An optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.
A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.
Nikon in-lens technology that improves image stability by automatically compensating for camera shake. Lenses that offer VR will feature the abbreviation VR on the lens barrel.
Super Integrated Coating
Nikon Super Integrated Coating is Nikon's term for its multilayer coating of the optical elements in NIKKOR lenses.
A lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimise coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the centre of the lens.
*As of October, 2019. Based on CIPA Standard: this value is achieved when attached to a DX-format camera with the camera’s VR function set to “NORMAL”, and when zoom is set to the maximum telephoto position.
The lens incorporates an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism. The following cameras are compatible with this lens: Z 5, Z 50, Z 7II, Z 7, Z 6II, Z 6.
